Clan Etiquette

These are more like guidelines anyways....

In addition to clan rules, which lead to being kicked or demoted, there are also general clan etiquette expectations. The worse thing that will happen if you dismiss these are:

  1. Members being grumpy enough that they won't want to help you out: so possibly waiting longer for troops or other assistance
  2. Possibly being passed up on wars when you opt in (and we have too many people opted in) because we question whether you're a good contribution to wars.
  3. Constantly being lectured that you are unpleasant, critical, or downright mean to others

General Clan Chat Etiquette:

  1. No spamming. If the clan chat looks like an ode of your thoughts, be quiet and let someone else chat!
  2. Offensive language is offensive. Offensive is subjective. Do not be offensive to others, and recognize that some people might not know that what they're said offended you. If in question... ask.
  3. Donations. Oh, donation. We have a lot of people here. A lot of awesome & helpful people here. When not at war, please try to keep your donation requests open for all of those awesome people to help. If you are practicing out a war strategy, that's great! let us know so that we can set up practice bases just for you! That way, you can get the troops you need, not waste them, and get constructive feedback from clanmates. And, about constructive feedback....
  4. Use constructive feedback (i.e. advice over being rude/mean)
    • Constructive Feedback: information-specific, issue focused, and based on observations. It comes in two varieties: praise and criticism. These are both personal judgements about a performance effort or outcome. However, praise is a favorable judgement, and criticism in an unfavorable judgement.
    • Negative criticism: Disapproval of something, or disagreement with something- it emphasizes the downsides of something. Negative criticism is often interpreted as an attack against a problem.

War Etiquette:

  1. Always request a clan castle with maxed troops for the clan. And be patient until it can be filled. Remember that our highest clan members have full-time jobs and, while they will be on, there are some hours of the day which they are less likely to be around. If you live in a different time zone, have a different schedule, etc. plan accordingly. Possibly request your troops ahead of time?
  2. Generally try to keep your war strength greater than your defensive strength (or equal). It will make you more of an asset to war in general: see the video under resources for more info
  3. Plan and have a specific strategy for your attacks. You want to attack bases who should be able to 3 star, without stopping your lower th members from acquiring stars.
  4.  Be smart about who you attack. Consider the strengths and weakness of your clan members. Just because someone is ranked above you, that does not mean they should attack higher than you. Some people are better at different attack styles and they should attack those bases instead. If someone ranked higher than you has weaker war troops, they should be attacking lower than you.
  5. Communicate with each other pre-war to decide the best attack strategy to win. Review the calling system within this blog!
